Prof. Mak Paranjape Receives NSF Grant for Collaboration with US FDA
Mak Paranjape, Associate Professor of Physics, recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation to collaborate with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on a project involving biomarker detection of opioid metabolites. Currently at the FDA on a Fall semester sabbatical, Paranjape will commence his NSF-FDA Scholar-in-Residence appointment starting in December 2019. His FDA sponsors are Dr. I. Isayeva (CDRH/OSEL/DBCMS) and Dr. D. Patwardhan (CDRH/OSEL/Associate Director for Regulatory Science and Innovation Outreach), while Daniel O’Brien will be the PhD student researcher.
