Physics major wins poster award
Leah Chen, a sophomore physics major, recently won third place in a video poster competition at the DC space grant consortium annual meeting. Supported by a grant from NASA, the DC space grant consortium is a group of local area universities that support NASA’s goals by contributing to STEM workforce development in the District of Columbia. Leah’s presentation, entitled “A Novel Hydrogen Peroxide Assay Technique for Characterization of Hydrogen Peroxide Responsive Nanoparticles”, described her work in the Van Keuren lab on the characterization of novel nanoparticles developed to treat acute kidney injury.
