Physics Faculty Win DC space Grant

A group of physics faculty (Cothran, Del Gado, Freericks and Van Keuren) were recently awarded a grant from the District of Columbia Space Grant Consortium (DCSGC). The grant will support activities to strengthen both teaching and research in the department, including the development of a MOOC for mathematical physics, the assembly of an apparatus for plasma physics experiments, and support for research on construction materials in space. DCSGC is a group of local universities funded by NASA to support STEM workforce development in the District of Columbia.
