Students to participate in international summer research programs

Three Georgetown physics students will be participating in NSF-sponsored International Research Experiences for Students (IRES) programs during the summer of 2016. As participants in George Mason University’s IRES at CERN, Nicholas Chapman and Daniel McCusker will be conducting research in particle physics at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva, Switzerland. Max Lefcochilos-Fogelquist will be joining the George Washington University IRES program, which partners with Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. Max will be engaging in the nuclear physics research program at the Mainz Microtron.
