Online quantum course named one of the best of 2017

Quantum Mechanics for Everyone, a GeorgetownX massive open online course developed by Prof. Jim Freericks, has been selected by Class Central as one of the best online courses of 2017. The course, which is designed for learners of all backgrounds, covers seemingly bizarre quantum phenomena such as the two-slit experiment, the Bell experiments, and quantum seeing in the dark. The course follows an approach developed by Richard Feynman to teach quantum mechanics to non-scientists.
Two undergraduate physics students, Dylan Cutler (C`16) and Lucas Vieira Barbosa, a visiting student from Brazil, contributed to the creation of the course, primarily in developing computer-based tutorials and simulations. Support for course development was provided by Georgetown’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship and the National Science Foundation.
