NIST PREP Program Awarded to Georgetown University

Posted in News Story

Georgetown has been selected to participate in a research exchange program with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (www.nist.gov/). The NIST Professional Research Experience Program (PREP) will enable a range of scientific interactions between NIST and GU, including undergraduate students, PhD students, post-docs, and visiting faculty members. The PREP program is designed to facilitate collaboration between academia and national laboratories, and enables research on topics of mutual interest. International participants are welcome on the program. Graduate students may participate for periods of a semester or more, in collaboration with NIST scientists, and visiting faculty may also participate. Positions depend on availability of funds at NIST for work within their groups. The PREP program is coordinated at Georgetown by Professor Peter Olmsted (Department of Physics and Institute for Soft Matter Synthesis and Metrology), peter.olmsted@georgetown.edu.
