New Faculty Members

The physics department is pleased to welcome two new faculty members. Peter Olmsted has joined us as the Joseph Semmes Ives Professor of Physics, and Emanuela Del Gado has been appointed Associate Professor of Physics. Prof. Olmsted, who was previously a faculty member at the University of Leeds, is a theorist who studies the physics of soft matter and biological materials. Prof. Del Gado comes to us from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). She uses computational and analytical tools of statistical physics to study properties of disordered materials.
