Last July, experimentalists reported on the observation of a new particle seen in proton proton experiments at CERN. This new particle might be the first observation of a fundamental scalar, and is very likely to be the long sought after Higgs boson. This year, results are in from data collected since last July. Professor Baden will give an overview of the experiment and the impact of the measurement.
