Professor Freericks publishes article on quantum computing in Nature Communications

Professor Freericks completed a project on showing how to use a linear-response formalism to calculate Green’s functions on quantum computers. The approach, running on IBM’s quantum computers, illustrated a general approach that allows for one to determine the response of bosons or fermions to applied fields. This is a first step toward finding problems that quantum computers can solve and classical computers cannot. The collaboration was with Prof. Lex Kemper and two graduate students at North Carolina State University.
