Maureen Rutter Brown (C'81) and David Brown Endowed Fund in Physics
Funds provided through the Maureen Rutter Brown (C’81) and David Brown Endowed Fund in Physics strengthen the collaborative nature of the Department of Physics by supporting annual strategic planning meeting and other events. The planning meetings serve as the primary venue for the Department to develop its long-term vision of new research areas, undergraduate and graduate curriculum, and collaborative research efforts involving other departments.
In recent years, the funds have supported the development of a five-year strategic plan, including plans for expansion into new areas of physics, requests for hiring new faculty, strategies for recruiting graduate students, and in the preparation of the ten-year Department self-study.
We are grateful for the support that Maureen and David Brown have provided to the Department as it has allowed us to strategically develop a more robust Physics program here at Georgetown University.
