Society of Physics Students (SPS) Organizes Event with Georgetown Institute for College Preparation (ICP) program

Students from the department’s chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) recently spent part of an afternoon demonstrating physics concepts to students in the Georgetown Institute for College Preparation (ICP) program. ICP provides intensive, comprehensive, pre-college academic enrichment to middle and high school students enrolled in targeted D.C. public schools.  A group of high school students in the ICP program visited Regents and learned about different aspects of mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and soft matter through some fascinating demos. Students from both groups had a great time and the SPS hopes to organize more events like this in the future.
