The Olmsted group visited the 2016 American Physical Society March Meeting in Baltimore, MD.
Post-doc Claire McIlroy gave a talk about her work on polymers orientation and welding in Additive Manufacturing processes, and post-doc Elian Masnada spoke about a new interpretation of spatial gradient terms for models of shear banding in entangled polymers. Peter spoke about John Wiliiamson’s work on phase separation kinetics in lipid bilayer membranes.
Peter helped GSOFT, the new APS Topical Group on Soft Matter , with its membership drive, which continued on the way to gathering enough new members to eventually create a Division for Soft Matter.
