Physics faculty elected to leadership positions in APS units

Professors Daniel Blair and Amy Liu have been elected to leadership positions in units of the American Physical Society (APS). Prof. Blair will serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Topical Group on Soft Matter, while Prof. Liu has been elected Vice Chair of the Division of Computational Physics

Other faculty in our department serving as officers in the APS include Prof. David Egolf, who is currently Chair of the Topical Group on Statistical Physics  and Nonlinear Science, Prof. Jim Freericks, who is completing his service as Secretary/Treasurer of the Division of Computational Physics, and Prof. Peter Olmsted, who is finishing a term as Secretary/Treasurer of the Topical Group on Soft Matter.

The APS is the leading organization of physicists in America and the second largest such group in the world.
