blair lab at georgetown

Welcome to the soft condensed matter physics lab at Georgetown University.

We study the mechanical properties of soft and biological materials using externally applied shear forces and thermally driven fluctuations.  The goal of our work is to elucidate the role that meso-scale structure plays on the macroscopic physical characteristics of soft materials.

We employ a variety of experimental techniques such as rheology, three dimensional
confocal microscopy, and light scattering.
